Which Size Should You Choose?
Here’s a quick guide:
- 8′–10′: For small tools, seasonal gear, lawn-&-garden, or compressed storage. Great where space is tight.
- 15′–24′: Workshop extension, off-grid cabin shell, livestock feed or hay storage, or movable office.
- 40′–53′ / High Cube: Full scale storage, large equipment, commercial / ranch scale operations. Tall “High Cube” models give extra overhead room.
Shipping container prices range from around $2500 to over $8000.
The cost of shipping containers varies based on size, age, condition, supply and demand and modifications. The shipping container cost for small sizes may be more than larger containers because of supply.
In other words, common sizes like 20ft and 40ft containers cost less to buy than 8ft or 10ft containers.
