Queen Excluder with Wood Frame

$14.99 USD

Our 10-frame queen excluder with a wooden frame is used to separate the area where the queen lays eggs, commonly called the brood box from the boxes of honey harvested by the beekeeper.

The wire grid prevents the large queen from passing through but allows worker bees to pass through. There is a space on either side of the wire grid that allows the bees to move easily. The wire mesh is not flush against the top bars.

Queen excluders are placed on the hive when honey boxes are added to the hive, usually during the early spring. Learn more about if you should use a queen excluder on our blog.
