OTHER: Bloodroot is a native of the Eastern US. The plant is named for its red sap that was used by Native Americans as a dye for baskets, clothing, and more. It has large fragrant 2" flowers that close at night. The plants have unique leaves that open below the flowers & can measure up to 9" wide. Bloodroot grows best in shade to part shade, & can tolerate moist or dry conditions. It makes a great ground cover, good for naturalizing.

Use caution when handing the plants - they produce sanguinarine (which is stored mainly in the roots) & this can be toxic to humans & animals. Do not ingest.
