The right clothing can make or break you in an emergency, inclement weather, or when you're on an adventure.

When planning, be sure to have clothing for each season depending where you live. We're partial to bamboo clothing and wool- did you know wool is known for its excellent moisture-wicking and temperature-regulating properties, allowing it to keep you cool and dry in both warm and cold weather?

And if you have little ones, be sure you're rotating clothing as they grow!

Whether it's a BoxHouse or other cabin, RV, tent, or just your vehicle, shelter is one of your most important preparations.

Best to have several options at your disposal for a quick getaway, but don't underestimate the value of relationships with friends or family who could house you in the short-term.

Starting from scratch? Tents are portable, inexpensive, and indispensable (plus, a lot of fun).

Nothing warms the soul (and feet) like a good fire. Great for light, heat, cooking, sterilizing, boiling water—fire also provides an unmatched morale boost.

To be truly prepared, you'll need the knowledge and skill to build a fire, something to start it with, and fuel to keep it going.

But don't forget you also need to be prepared to put out the fire. And if things get out of hand, fire blankets are a great no-mess way to get the job done on smaller fires. For property protection, consider a compressed air foam system that can mount on a UTV or in the back of another vehicle.
